I was born and raised in Maryland, but escaped the cold winters in desperate search for warmth in 2020. I now call sunny Florida home, where I live with my husband and our dog, Bandit. I've always had a passion for art, but given the abnormally rigid standards of traditional asian upbringing, pursued a different educational background. I earned my associates degree in Business Administration, but am actively working towards my bachelors at Southern New Hampshire University.
My career in graphic design unexpectedly began in 2012, when I was hired as a receptionist for a start-up athletic apparel company. My responsibilities included the usual, glamorous receptionist duties: getting coffee, answering phones, and scheduling appointments--until I received an task to photoshop 500+ photos from a previous photoshoot.
With no experience with graphic design, I sought the wisdom and advice of Ye' Ole Youtube University. What started as a necessity grew into a passion. Over time, I honed my skills, eventually earning a promotion to Product Marketing Manager and Web Designer, where I created visually compelling assets and user-friendly experiences. This hands-on experience taught me the value of persistence, creativity, and adaptability.
Through years of dedication, self-learning, and collaboration, I've become confident in my abilities as a designer. I believe that skills can always be sharpened through practice, wisdom grows through mentorship, and nothing is impossible with teamwork. I'm excited to continue learning, growing, and designing impactful solutions.
